Compression condensing unit is an equipment that organically combines one or several refrigeration compressors, condensers, fans, liquid receivers, filters, oil separators and necessary auxiliary unit. Users could configure corresponding throttling device, evaporator and other accessories based on exact needs to form a complete refrigeration system.

According to refrigerant adopted, it can be divided into ammonia unit and Freon unit

according to cooling methods, it can be divided into air-cooled condensing unit and water-cooled condensing unit.

according to the type of the refrigeration compressor, there are scroll type, piston type unit, screw type condensing unit and so on.

Compression condensing unit is widely used in light commercial, large-scale commercial and industrial fields.  such as cold storage, supermarkets, quick freezing, medicine, ice making, cold chain transportation, and petrochemical industries, etc.

Regarding to air-cooled and water-cooled methods,

users mainly consider two factors while choosing.  operation and maintenance cost and the local climate.

The air-cooling condensing system has the features of easy installation,  no environment pollution, no water consumption,  relative smaller initial investment, no special requirement on the working condition and environment, small floor space, etc. It is especially suitable for small refrigeration projects.

The water cooling system needs to build a cooling tower and maybe needs a water treatment system to improve the circulation water quality if the water quality is bad. and some auxiliary facilities are necessary as well.  the initial investment will be higher than air-cooling condensing system.

Water-cooled units are more suitable for regions with higher outdoor temperatures (>30°C),  its advantages of energy-saving and cooling will be more obvious in these areas.

From an application point of view, air-cooled condensing system are generally used in medium and high-temperature cold storage, while water-cooled systems are more considered for large-scale low-temperature cold storage.
